To quote Motorcycle.com: "The Bear 650 is a simple, budget-friendly scrambler, combining accessible performance with 'big bike' appeal. With five distinctive color schemes and an extensive custom parts catalog, Enfield's new Twin exudes '60s style. Its smooth six-speed transmission and smartphone-compatible instrumentation make it a credible tourer, enhanced by a strengthened subframe for carrying luggage and a passenger. While the suspension is notably stiff, relaxed ergonomics and a plush seat deliver all-day comfort." Found at: 2025 Royal Enfield Bear 650 Review – First Ride by Guy Pickrell.

History:
The Bear 650 embodies the spirit of 16-year-old rookie Eddie Moulder who, in 1960, lined up alongside hundreds of sideburned hopefuls, all hungry to win the wildest race the Californian desert had ever known—the Big Bear Run. He rodw his Royal Enfield to victory. An amazing feat, as only 207 riders finished out of almost 1,000 starting riders. He might have crossed the line with a bent handlebar and one less rear shock than he started wit, but even 64 years later. Moulder's epic win still inspires.

Why not a high-level exhaust?

Scramblers can run high or low-level exhausts - there are no hard and fast rules
here. We chose to specify The Bear with a low-level silencer to allow
easy fitment of soft luggage and reduce discomfort for our customers from heat
transferred to the right leg.

What can you expect from the Bear 650?

The Bear 650 is powered by our proven 650-Twin engine, tuned for more torque
over other Twins models, delivering an exhilarating riding experience. Thanks to
suspension from Showa, as well as bespoke tire and chassis development, the
Bear 650 is a dynamic road machine while remaining capable on broken roads and
light trails.

The Bear 650 is the first Royal Enfield motorcycle to get a 2-into-1 header exhaust. How does this impact the weight and performance of the bike?

It contributes to the 8% increase in peak torque compared to other models on the
platform. The compact single silencer & cat box with stainless headers reduce
mass compared to a twin silencer system and pull mass closer to the motorcycle's
center. The exhaust has a distinctive sound - different to any of our other Twins
platform models.

What is the fuel tank capacity, fuel efficiency, and tentative range?

The usable capacity of the fuel tank is 13.8 liters (3.6 gallons) with a potential tank
range of 300km (180 miles). The fuel efficiency is around 22km/l (51 mpg).
